A&R was conceived, grown, and maintained as a family oriented business by Ken and Angela Patel. Consistent with their ever expanding business strategy and dedication to success, they have grown A&R from one hotel in Scottsboro, Alabama to a major force in the Southeast region. The managing partners at A&R have 30 years of combined experience syndicating, investing, and managing commercial and hospitality real estate.
A&R is organized by Strategic Business Units (SBU’s) under the general leadership of Ken & Angela Patel. Each SBU has a delegated team leader with multifaceted experience and expertise with robust capabilities and resources, to deliver superior profitability and appeal to our brand partners, owners, and investors. The synergy created by having these various Strategic Business Units under one common control enables the Company to create an efficient, nimble, and successful enterprise.
Commercial Laundry

Construction
A&R Construction employs decades of combined experience building remarkable projects, including hotels, condominiums, assisted and independent living facilities, and even stadiums. We strive to identify and implement the best means, methods, and materials to increase project value and ensure maximum time efficiency. Through close collaboration with our Design team, we begin developing a comprehensive project schedule that coordinates building phases with the FF&E installment, allowing for a seamless project progression. Equipped with a full team of experienced estimators, supervisors, and project managers, we can provide a vast array of pre-construction & construction services, including open/selected bidding management, evaluation and selection of sub-contractors, project cost analysis, and on-site construction management. Whether it is a new-build, conversion, or renovation, A&R is committed to increasing efficiencies, improving communications, and delivering the highest-quality property for our owners and investment partners.
Design
A&R Design and Purchasing team draws on decades of hospitality industry experience, creating exceptionally designed properties that are not only consistent with franchise requirements but are unique to the project location and clientele. Looking beyond mere visual elements, we strive to optimize the spatial requirements and operational relationships between each area of the hotel, ensuring ease and efficiency of operations for ultimate personnel and guest satisfaction. Our combined familiarity with major leading hotel brands and direct access to both domestic and international FF&E manufacturers enables us to deliver a design that is functional, economical and value enhancing for the appreciable financial benefit to our investors.
Development
A&R Development is engaged in our strategic portfolio growth and asset management. Success in growth is second nature to us and is attributed to our disciplined and extensive due diligence and thorough evaluations prior to committing to any project. In addition to our on-budget, on-time new development project deliveries, we have also shared in impressive investment returns to our partners through redeveloping and repositioning lodging assets. We have a keen, trained sense in identifying mismanaged or otherwise distressed hotels. Supported by our in-house resources and competencies, we have successfully completed numerous renovations and conversions.
