Operating with Brand Guidelines
to Ensure a COVID-Free Environment

As the world continues to adapt to Covid-19, hotels must stay committed to providing safe, clean, and enjoyable stays to their guests. Not only is diligent adherence to the safety guidelines critical for the families and individuals that choose to stay with us, but the guidelines also offer protection to all of our hotel staff, ensuring that they can thrive in their work environment.

The guidelines were carefully developed to enhance health and safety in our hotels, and each is backed by science. Though the virus’s intensity has diminished at A&R Hospitality and many other hospitality companies and hotels, it’s critical that hotel staff and guests alike work together to keep the risk low. As a reference, the guidelines implemented by our hotels are:

  1. Adherence to state and local Covid-19 guidelines ensures that our hotels operate with laws and regulations based on their location. These requirements can vary based on the location of the accommodation, so all hotel leadership should be knowledgeable about what is expected of them at both the state and local levels.
  2. Every one of our hotels must have a documented “Commitment to Clean Plan” that outlines requirements and provides a resource of expectations to associates.
  3. EPA-approved cleaning and disinfecting products must be used in all instances. These products offer better protection against the virus than non-approved alternatives.
  4. If employees are fully vaccinated, they are not required to wear masks during their shifts. For non-vaccinated or partially vaccinated associates, an approved face covering must be worn indoors. If local regulations are more stringent, those regulations override hotel policies.
  5. Hand sanitizer must be placed in high-traffic areas. This will help protect against virus transmission for our customers and staff.
  6. Informational signage throughout public spaces is required. Signage on cleanliness, social distancing, hygiene, and best practices is encouraged.
  7. Any items that cannot be cleaned between guest interactions should be eliminated from our hotels and replaced with alternative options.
  8. During guest stays, all hotel staff, including housekeeping, room service, and more, should limit their entries into each guest room.
  9. Disinfecting wipes need to be offered to our guests when they arrive and made continuously available throughout their stay.
  10. Every location should nominate a Cleanliness Champion to monitor adherence to the above guidelines.
  11. Keeping an electrostatic sprayer on site can help make disinfecting a breeze, lowering transmission rates and increasing our guest’s safety and satisfaction

The guidelines above are designed to be effective and easy to follow. A&R Group takes a science-based approach to slowing the spread of Covid-19, and we will continue to operate with our guests and hotel staff at the forefront of our decisions.

When the transmission of Covid-19 has sufficiently slowed at each site, some of the guidelines can be relaxed. For instance, some locations have eliminated steps 6, 7, 8, and 11 with leadership approval. Together, we can cultivate an environment of safety, no matter where our guests are traveling.
